First up,try checking for any logged error codes. This test can tell you if anything is wrong with any of the engine or transmission sensors or any of the engine management systems.Heres a link that shows you how to do this test. Its quick and easy to do.---Checking error codes VR/VS (Revised)---If you scroll down near the bottom of the posts in this link, theres also some excellent pictures that show you how to do this test.
also, give the throttle body a clean, especially the IAC valve.
seems to happen a bit with them.
IAC Valve controls engine idle, and is used to raise the rpm (rev's) of the motor when you change between gears. Over time the IAC valve becomes clogged up and sticky, meaning it does not function correctly. The best thing to do is remove the IAC valve and give it a clean, best to do the rest of the throttle body whilst you are at it.
The IAC valve is part of the throttle body, remove the engine cover and you will see where the air intake tube goes into the throttle body. You can do a search on here for more information.
