I am supercharging my 5L at the moment and am stuck now on fuel pump choice.
I can get a WLABRO GSS342 intank pump that i'm told should do the trick.
But
Then been told the intank pumps aren't as good as the externals.
Thinking of a bosch 044
I dont wanna have to do anything twice so i wanna get it right the first time.
I like the intank pumps because there is no extra wiring or piping needed, its simply plug it in and refit to the tank, nice easy job.
Then the external pump, new wiring to be run, extra fittings to be bought, bracket to be mounted.
Opinions please.
Cheers

In tank pumps usually last at least 200,000km so from a life point of view there is no problem. Regarding how much they can pump, the standard factory pump will supply more fuel than a supercharged bent eight will ever need driven on a public road. The Walbro will supply even more. I figure keep things simple....less problems down the road.
Good Luck.

surge tank and external pump is by far the safest way to set it up properly.the amount of commodores that suffer fuel surge round corners ide never even contemplate any other setup

Where do ppl usually set up the surge tank other than in the boot, i dont really wanna route fuel lines into the boot and then back out.
Is under the bonnet an acceptable place 4 it.?
Is it ok to use the factory intank pump to feed the surge tank or does it have to be a low pressure pump to feed it?
I've never really modded anything to the extent i will with my commodore and just wanna make sure i'm doing it right the first time, Hence all the questions..

Could people post some pics of where they have their surge tank mounted if you have any.
Cheers.

At a guess...and it's only a guess, I'd say that fitting a surge tank without an engineers certificate and a modification plate (in Qld) will result in a defect notice plus void your insurance.
But like I say, I'm only guessing and could be 100% wrong, however......
