Default Almost purposefully broke a door handle in anger today

So these god damn door handles are the one thing holding me back from getting my car registered right now.

I took them off to paint the doors and for the life of me I cant get them back in.

I can't even get them into the position where there is enough clearance for the pin to go through.

How the heck do you do it!? Haynes manual doesn't help for shit. Haynes manual hasn't helped me one bit ever.

edit: I mean I know how to do it, i got the front passenger side one on.... but god damn why is it so hard?

Okay so I got them all back in... Was easier with a bit of know how.. Had to jam the housing in before pinning the latch.

    BUT

    The driver side door....

    It wont open.

I attatched the latch for the key opening, and I put the latch thing in its hole...

There's a bare connection in my door trim which I think may have some cause here, does anyone know where to connect it?

cant see anything in that pic but the two locating dowels on either end of the handle part of the whole assembly (the part you actually pull up on) can sometimes drop out of their pivot spot and the handle will just lock up. just take it out and try again thats all you can do. theres not a whole lot that can go wrong with them really.

I had a hell of a time getting my handle on as well. Its a bit tricky as its tight to move some of the bits around due to the glass runner. Pulling another one out wont really help, trust me
Just put yours together off the car and see how it works.

Also, the plastic / rubber seal needs to sit in properly on the door and also the handle (this is what cause most of my trouble when refitting the handle I think)
