Hey everyone.
I just recently go a new boot for my 97 Vs commodore, old one was all busted up, any way was just wonderin how do i get the Key boot release out so i can swap them over.
Iv had a look and it dosn't look like it un-clips.
Any advice would be helpfull.
Look from the inside - there is a "U" shaped piece of spring steel that holds the lock cylinder in the boot lid - slide it across and it's free.

The gregorys workshop manual says--
Boot lock-To remove and install.
1)Open the boot lid and remove the lock retaining screws.
2)On electric release models, release the retaining clip and disconnect the lock cylinder control rod and the actuator control rod from the lock.Remove the lock from the vehicle.
3)On cable release models, disconnect the lock cylinder control rod and release cable from the lock.Remove the lock from the vehicle.
4)If necessary, remove the actuator retaining screws, disconnect the wiring and remove the actuator from the vehicle.
Installation is a reversal of the removal procedure with attention to the following points.
It may be necessary to adjust the position of the cable or actuator in the slotted holes to provide proper operation.
And to to remove the boot lock cylinder.
1) Release the retaining clip and disconnect the lock cylinder control rod from the lock cylinder.
2) Remove the lock cylinder retaining clip and remove the lock cylinder from the boot lid.
Yeah but on the inside there is like a white thing connected to a wire arm which is connected to the key release. Not sure how that comes off.
Look real close at it and you'll note the bit of white clip that attaches to the arm (not the lever) can be clipped off the arm. Once it clips off sideways the rod simply falls off - just force it off with your thumb. They had me fooled for a time.
