Default VR Statesman fuse box noise

hi everyone i just brought a 1994 vr statesman v6 and im having a little problem electrically.
firstly i think my rear window demister is broken as i have to push hard for the on light to turn on and when its on it doesnt seem to demist . secondly my cruise control sometimes turns off for no reason and when its on if i go over a bump it turns of, and im not sure if its normal with vr's but when ever i turn something on e.g demister, cruise control, indicator, window wipers, it makes a clicking sound where the fuses are under the steering wheel.

any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

Check all the fuses under the steering wheel. My rear demister is broken, it's a pretty common problem, might just be a stiff button. Have you checked that your cruise control module in your car is secure and not banging and the plug is fully connected?

The clicking sound is probably either the relays in the fuse panel under the dash,or the BCM (Body Control Module) which is up behind the fuses etc..It controls a lot of the cars electrical systems. and will sometimes make a clicking sound when switching certain electrical items on or off.

You might have a broken wire on the demister on the back window. Mine is broken where the plug connects to it and it looks like I might be able to re solder it.

You can buy clear conductive adhesive for repairing the rear demister electrical connectors. It also works excellent for repairing broken demister lines in the glass.Just find the break in the demister line with a multimeter, put some electrical tape either side of the broken line along where the break is, leave about 1 mm gap between the two bits of tape so the demister line is still visible, and just paint on the adhesive over the break in the line. When the adhesive dries, remove the tape and that demister line should now work again.
