Default VR commodore blowing white smoke

Hi just wondering if any one has any suggestions on why my car is running rough and is blowing white smoke from exhaust. Looks like a smoke screen. It is using a lot of coolant but cannot find any leaks. I was wondering if I need a new head gasket or have blown head.
There is no oil in water and no water in oil.
    thank you
    cheers

Yeah pretty rough. Got a quote the other day for a recon motor $4,200 or if we take out and put in $3,000, but I cant afford that at the moment.

Odds on it is the inlet manifold gasket gone as James39 suggests. Simple to fix yourself.

It is funny people tend to forget about that gasket and end up getting another motor thinking theirs is stuffed lol
