Hi Guys . Thought i would take the VS Calais for a cruise this morning to find that it has a flat battery . I had left nothing on last night and it is a brand new battery . One thing i did notice as i walked past it last night was the 4 little lights on the electric windows were on . is this normal ???
Cheers Mick .

they should time out with the other interior lights after a minute, if there not timing out then id say a door isn't shut properly, Or a door switch isn't working, try the door switches manually and check they all work.
The lights are telling you the window circuit is powered up.
This is controlled by the BCM. If you turn off the ingnition and open the drivers door, the BCM will hold power to the windows (so you can wind them up without the key on) for 45sec.
If they dont turn off after about 1.5 hrs, you may have a dodgy relay in the BCM holding the power on all the time.
First check the altermator is charging the battey and check the B+ cable at the back of the alternator is not burned out.
If all OK there, check current draw from your battery with everything turned off.
Edit: just read above post.

Thanks guys . Where abouts is the relay for the the interior lights ??? The lights are staying on all the time . I also have no globe in the roof light as the bracket is busted . will this affect the way the lights work ?
Cheers Mick .

Try a BCM reset.

Maybe check the interior light switch. It might be turned to the on position, and because you dont have an interior light bulb fitted at the moment, you havent noticed its switched on..
BCM-Body Control Module. It can be reset either by removing the fuel pump fuse for 1 second,(fuel pump fuse is in the fuse box under the bonnet). The BCM will click and the interior light will come on,and the security light will start to flash when its sucessfully reset..The BCM is located just behind the fuse box under the steering column.
I have discovered that the last owner has pulled out the relay and put a direct wire to keep constant power in it's place . So I pulled that out and bought a relay from holden and plugged it in . The fuse is fine but now there is no power to make the windows work with the new relay . any ideas ?

Ive just been looking at the VS wiring diagram, and the power window relay power comes from fuse no 7 under the dash, and also the circuit breaker which is in fuse position 5 under the dash. The power then goes from the power window relay to the BCM.The wiring to the window motors then comes from the BCM itself..Id say that if the main power window relay is ok,and the fuses and circuit breaker show to be ok,then the BCM itself could be the problem.Maybe try another BCM to see if that fixes it.If you get another BCM,keep in mind you will also need a matching ignition key fob.
Thanks heaps again Brett . The fuse was blown in number 7 . all works again with no problems![]()

No worries mate,Its always excellent when a problem ends up being easy to fix like a blown fuse or whatever..Good one.Cheers .
