    Default no rust yet

    hi everyone,i started rubbing back my 97 vs executive today to get rid of the clear finish peeling problem.so far ive done two panels and i'm yet to find a spot of rust that is bigger than a match head.both have been sanded back to bare metalHas anyone got any suggestions on what is the best primer to use to keep it like it is.rust free!SO FAR

    I would use etch primer on bare metal.
    Until the topcoat goes on, keep it out of the weather.

    A spray painter would be the best person to ask.

    Its a bit worrying that you would take your car back to bare metal without first having something to coat it with

    pleased to hear that your worried!I had purchased some primer for the job but was just looking for some advice to make sure it was the right primer to use.Isn't that what this site is for,learning.What primer would you suggest?You sound like you know everything!
