    Default Trans fluid leak

So today i was driving my vs on the way to buy a new car, while driving i notice smoke coming out from my rear view mirror. Then i stoped at the lights and the whole engine started smoking up.

I knew something wasnt right so got outa me car poped the bonnet to have a look and saw fluid leaking near where the power stearing rack is, so i looked under the car to my amazement there was a big pơodle that looks to be transmission fluid.

Ended up getting it towed back home and now its sitting outside awaiting to get inspected when im free, just wondering if anyone would know what would cause this to happen..
