Hello, to may willing to help me with my problems with my car immobiliser in my VR but one thing is that i was told i had a VP engine in it but when i look at some VR engines they seem to look the same, but one thing is if you need me to take a photo of the engine as i am willing to do for info if i have an VR or an VP motor.
But a year ago i got a Key cut at Mr. Mint he as he asked what motor i got so i said i got a VP engine but last year i got another motor in it as the one i had in it Crapped it self so the mechanic put the motor in and the computer in. But now i got a problem with the Factory car Immobiliser and i have an after market on fitted on for free due to the Council and neighbor hood watch for a free voucher, but i also need to know that if i Remove the Factory car immobiliser which i have problems with it starting as sometimes i get in i turn the key it wont start untill i take the battery terminal off for 1 minute and place it back on then it will start. i have to use a key for the after market car immobiliser so i get the engine started. but also i have a lose key slot as i can remove the key whille the car is still running, do i need to get a new barrel and key?
Regards, Gervarod.
Sounds like the problem may be your ignition barrel, if the key head don't make proper contact with the ring (key reader) it won't disable the factory Immobilizer.
You make think that by disconnecting the battery is fixing the problem though when you try again the key may have a better contact.
And as far as disabling the Factory Immobilizer I am pretty sure you can get a chip for the ECU that disables factory security.
