    Default taking vr 5.0 ltr engine out and need help

    i am wondering how do u take the engine out wth the wiring attached to the moter as i have disconected the plug on passenger side comp and all other conectors but on the drivers side going through fire wall their is no plug it just runns straight into dash.. the engine i am using for my vk conversion so i need the wiring harness to do the conversion.. how do i take the wiring harness do i just cut it where it goes into my fire wall or do i have to feed the whole lot out under dash... let me know as i am not mechanical minded

    just had another look and as soon as it goes into the fire wall and through the dash the wiring branches off into a few ways one is to the dash cluster behind some were another into body controll and the other is straight into fuse box near pedals how do you thread through the fire wall im assuming u dont so do i cut it and thread at the fire wall and rejoin the wires ? wen ready to install?

    nope, take the loom off the motor and unplug the two plugs near the battery.

    ok i se that now i can tahe the moter out... but my question is now i need the wiring harness to do the conversion and need the fuse box and wiring harness so it needs to be taken out so im assuming its the under the dash fuses and bonnet ?

    ok but you know the hole into the fire wall the fuse box and all the other wires wont fit back through as i thought their would be a plug before it went into 100 diff directions but their aint so im stuck on how you are ment to feed it through the fire wall, even if you threaded it from the moter back through the fire wall into the cab you have the other fuse box attached ?

    Mate remove the entire dash and you will understand where
    and how it brances off. You take out the fuse panel and all the rest of the wires thru the firewall hole. Just cut off the ones That you don't need.

    Just a quick note it's a bastard of a job to get the fuse panelout the firewall get someone to help you.

    ah ok looks like alot of work is their big issues to just cut the wire before the fire wall and then feed it out or is that creating another problem for me down the track ?

    sorrry for the questions but i understand now to take the fuses through fire wall to do the conversion into my vk i am assuming i dont need the entire wiring harness so the bits that go to the blinkers and ignition ect are they the ones i cut as i wont be wiring up the car ill take it some were to get wired and just take the harness were should i be disconecting the harness ?after the fuse box?and after the body controll ? any one know this infomation would help cheers

    are you going to be running a bcm in the vk

    im putting a vt 5.0 into my hilux

    i had a memcal done to remove the bcm and security settings

    i dont know about holden motors into another holden as you are doing
    but if you need to get another loom to make it integrate to your vk they come with fuses and relays
    just check it all out before you go cutting anything

    i am currently getting engine ready to get out of car and wiring but im wondering do i need to take everything out like dash blinkers ignition and were ever else it goes into dash ?
