    Default 1999 VS Ute

    Hi everyone,
New to the boards, but I was looking at purchasing a 1999 VS Ute series 2 (Manual), is there anything I should be looking out for in particular when I take it for a test drive tomorrow.
    Thanks in advance.
    Chris

Hey bud, i have a 1999 VS Ute and manual too.
99' are series 3 aren't they mate? At least mine is....
Anywhom mate, as it's manual and a ute there is a high chance it has had a hard life, is it owned by a young fella like me?
If so, check clutch wear and tyres and all the normal stuff.
If it's had any mods check that they are rwc, not dodgy jobs like chopped springs.
Also mate, don't notice the sloppy gearbox, it's a gertrag gearbox common.
Other then that, check out everything as you would on a normal car mate.
Hopefully you find a keeper mate, good luck with it all and let us know how it goes.

Ive had my Getrag box now for almost 3 years and cant say a bad word about it unless you count the wobbly gearstick which is fixed with a Billet Shifter, i think you'll find that if you abuse it you will have problems although you will have problems with most gearboxes i would say when abusing them.
