So after a bit of thinking and research, i am PRETTY sure i've decided to install a stage 2 shift kit,
Prior to this though i am after some last minute advice, hints, tips and so forth from anyone that currently has a vehicle with this, or has owned one.
Advantages, disadvantages, annoyances and so forth,
And if anyone thinks they are horrible and wants to turn me against them for whatever reason then please give it a shot before i make a mistake in getting one.
Also, rough prices and locations/recommendations as to where is best to get this done.
Would really appreciate some feedback, cheers!
they are a decent bit of kit, and there is a heap of threads with feedback and comments..

Another option is to get the line pressures bumped up and go from there.
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
yea thats pretty much it, the transge stage 2 doesnt come with the 2nd gear corvette servo, so you have to purchase this seperately. i have a transgo kit (not installed yet) but have the 2nd gear corvette servo in and the change from 1st to 2nd is nice, firm, and quick when the foots down, and barely noticeable when on light throttle.
your best off ringing around to get quotes off some automatic specialists as some/most mechanics wont touch or service your auto. it wont hurt getting your auto serviced at the same time (most will do this).
Make sure when its done, post up your results![]()

not 100% sure, depending on the work load of some joints, it may take half a day or it may take them 2.
There are mechanics, mechanics that will do your auto, and auto specialists that know their way round an auto with their eyes closed. Which ever you call, ask them about install times, when, whereonly they can tell you. i dont know of any to recommend sorry.
As i had my servo installed when i got my auto rebuilt, but didnt install the transgo kit at the same time because he wouldnt give the 2 year warranty as he didnt deal much with shiftkits.
I got mine done for $330 at Bayswater Automatics. Full Stage 2 with corvette servo's. Drive in, Drive out. Takes about 3 and a bit hours. I just went and chilled at Maccas and fell asleep while waiting lol.
Deffiantly worth getting one man,
Ive got one in my vs, shifts so much better![]()
I reject your reality and substitute my own.
Just changing a few values in the auto transmission settings in the memcal chip can make these boxes change 100 times better than standard too, and costs nothing if you have access to EPROM read/write gear.Ive tried a few different transmission settings, small changes, a bit at a time, slowly I got it better, and now, no more laggy, slow shifts.Just quick, snappy shifts under power, and firm, quick shifts under light throttle..This is from a standard VS box thats got about 150,000 km on it,and has been serviced regularly. It will be interesting to see how it goes over time.I dont drive slowly either...but so far,so good.Ive noticed that the box runs a bit cooler around town with these settings too.Thats gotta be a good thing.
