Vr ignition

Hello everyone, I have a slight problem im hoping to get some help with. When I put my key into ignition there is alot of play there but the key will not turn. I think you need to have the ignition turned on to be able to remove the barrell. What should I do somehow break the barrell of or could i call in a locksmith to fix the barrell

ok so the key wont turn at all,, sounds like the barrel has collapsed. have you tried to tap it in with a hammer? if you can get it to push in you should be able to turn it to accessories witch is were it needs to be so you can release the old barrel an fit the new one
