Hi everyone,
This afternoon the rear passenger door of my VS Wagon was difficult to open, then it wouldn't shut. Now it won't open at all. Any helpful suggestions? My kids have also wrecked the wheel thing on the side that reclines the seat. Any suggestions on how to fix that before i just go and replace the seat would be greatfully accepted.

I'd try and thing back to what happened to the door when it started playing up - was it something jamming the door striker...maybe rag/paper jammed in the door. When you got it moving did you notice anything else different about it's operation? If the central locking still works, and you are sure the lock snib (door button) is unlocking, then I'd get someone on the outside to pull on the handle whilst you push from the inside where the lock latch is....if it opens figure out why it's playing up before closing again. If it won't open then you are probably going to have to remove the trim.
Re the seat - check and compare the reclining knob on the drivers seat and see what they've done. We had 7 kids so I know how you feel!

As for the seat the kids have Missplaced the reclining knob so comparing it is going to be a hard job.![]()
We havn't noticed anything happening with the car door until this afternoon and as far as i could see nothing was jamming it when we were trying to close it. ( The seatbelt was the first thing i checked when the kids called out) I wish i had of kept it open to figure out why it wouldn't shut but unfortunatly we were out in the open. I did have a quick look at the catch but couldn't see anything wrong imediatly. Thanks for the 2 person suggestion. I don't know how helpful it will be because i have child lock on it but......
Umm the only thing i can notice is that i can open the door slightly. Kind of like when the doors not shut properly, but it won't open any further than that.
Thanks for the help.
Just thought i'd let you know that thanks to your suggestions, and a pair of pliers I have now fixed both problems.
The catch on the door was sticking in the wrong position. ( which i suspected it might be just didn't know how to get it open) and i have managed with the pair of pliers to turn the interior parts of the recliner to get the seat back up.
Now i just have to convince my son that the seat in the upright position is better than laying down for a sleep on the way to school.
Sounds like pliers are the answer - kids hands are usually too small to operate them. Glad the problem was solved.
