MY vs 5spd v6 wont make power! its an ittinmintent problem some times its fine other times its not
you put the boot into it in first it revs to about 4500, 5000 rpm then makes no power engines still working not coughin splattering or anything its wont rev any harder and will climb ever so slightly (100 km every few seconds) when in low range rpm it still pulls just when its in high range..other times it doesnt have this problem at all and will rev out quite quickly when i put the boot into it. this problem occurs in all gears in high rev range at an ittitment times my fuel pump died and thought it musnt be able to keep up new fuel pump and it still ahs the same problem. tanks got plenty of fuel. coils have been tested aswell as spark plugs and leads and all are working fine. maf sensor has been cleaned with maf cleaner and air cleaner is k and n and has been 'recharged' recenrtly i then cleaned the maf a few weeks later to remove the filter oil from the maf. any ideas?
Clutch is slipping/on it's way out would be my first guess.
yeah but if the clutch was slipping that shouldnt hinder the reving of it should it? clutch is a exedy and about 6 months old. same as in my vl turbo....vl turbo cops death on a 12 sec pass. vs is a daily driver...vl clutch is older and as good as it was the day i got it
this is my clutch

Coil packs, mine seemed to struggle in the upper revs, replacing them fixed it.
Id also recommend testing the coil packs by replacing them, one at a time, with a known good coil.Ive tested these coils with a multimeter before, and theyve shown up ok on the meter, but were still causing problems.3 new coils, and all fixed.I also recommend using genuine holden coils, some of the cheaper ones like some on ebay, dont seem to work as well or last as long as the originals. You can also use a good known brand like MSD.They make excellent quality coils for these engines. Also if one coil is stuffed, its best to replace all three at the same time. They seem to loose their performance over time,I fitted a second hand coil to replace a faulty one.The car was back to running good again.A week later I then replaced all 3 coils with genuine holden coils, and there was a good noticable difference in the starting and running of the engine,it was also a bit better on fuel.If the coils are ok,and not causing the problem, then Id be getting the fuel pressure checked, also its worth replacing the fuel filter as it could have picked up some crap which has half blocked it.I change my fuel filter every oil change. They are as cheap as,and easy to change if you got stands or ramps.Another thing to check out is the error codes. This test only takes a minute or two,and is very helpful when trying to chase down a problem. If you dont know how to do this error code test, heres a link to a post that shows you how.Just scroll down near the bottom of the posts in the link to see the pics with the revised instructions.
---Checking error codes VR/VS (Revised)---
Okay well ill guess ill give it ago when i got a spare 200 odd bucks. due to the fact ive just replaced them with the genuine artiical in the previous months....and its an ittmitent problem.
I wouldnt go replacing them unless you can prove 100% they are faulty. The easiest way to find out,is to borrow a mates coil, or just get a working second hand one .And try it in the 3 places where yours go,just to see if theres any difference in how it runs.If you have just replaced them, they are probably ok then, unless they were cheapie ones. You only mentioned testing them in your post.Did you do the error code check yet?
yeh no error code shown
If the fuel filter has not been changed for a few months, then Id also be doing that before doing anything else.
blocked cat/s???
