    Default SS Front Bar Painted.

    Hey fellas.
Just thinking how much i would expect to pay to paint this front bar to suit my vs ute.
I already got a quote for it, $600 painted and fitted including removing the red stripe from my current bar and replacing it on the SS bar as the bar i am painting is off a VR SS and there red stripe is a bit wider then my current VS S Pac strip.
If anyone has any details of anyone that can do me a deal in the melbourne bayside area give us a shout.
P.S: if anyone is wondering why i am painting the whole bar and not just the lip, it's because my bar has a massive scratch on the left side and lots of rock chips. The camera is just really nice to it.
    Thanks in advance.

Theres a place in newy (aka newcastle, nsw) that'll paint and fit bumpers from $150,so a VS SS bumper shouldnt be a great deal more. Another told me $220 for mine to be painted and fitted. Melbourne should have heaps more panel shop around so ring around and i bet you'll find someone that'll do the same job for less then half ur quote so far

^^^whats the bumpers like though after being painted and fitted for $150? do they rub them back at all or just buy a few spray cans and go for their life on them?

150 dollars does sound a bit too cheap, but if they did a good job for that price i would be over the moon.
i guess i'll shop around more, 600 bucks is fair steep.

Hang on. Amongst all that I couldn't really make out what you wanted.

So you want to repaint this white bar to your match the Pantha Mica of your car, and then fit it up?

Or do you just want the lip painted?

Lip painted will be $100 - $150. Attach it yourself, good time to learn how to do things yourself lol! Saves money in the future.

For the whole bar painted, you could minimise the cost by sanding it right back, and then priming it. All they will need to do is to paint it for you, also see if you can save some money on getting the paint pre mixed up rather than paying these guys to do it.

Do a google search for some panel beaters/painters around your immediate area, I'm from Eastern burbs (donvale/ringwood area) so I can't tell you any in Bayside, but Ringwood smash repairs do a good job.

sorry if i wasn't specific enough mate.
i want to paint the whole white bar to suit the midnight blue of my vs ute.
the current stock bar on my ute at the moment has a scratch and a lot of rock chips hence why i am painting the whole white one and not just removing the lip off the white one and painting it to match the current bar.
i will do a search and let you know how i go fellas.

    Ah. Ok right.

Save yourself some cash and sand it back yourself. Probably save $200 or so. And prime it yourself also.

Yeah, knowing me i will find a way to stuff it up. I'm not a very hands on person. If i find a joint that gives me a good deal i won't do any work myself. At the end of the day i want this bar to look good, if i do it myself it may not haha.
Just depends on how much i shop around i guess. My dad said he knows a bloke at work who paints out of a factory. He may be able to do me a good deal.
