Hi,
I have a 1996 VS Exec Commodore Sedan (with bench seat).
About a month ago the car wouldn't start.
The NRMA said the battery was old (& checked the alternator was still charging, etc), so they replaced the battery.
A week later the car wouldn't start again. The NRMA said the battery was flat and needed charging.
I took the car to an auto electrician who tried to work out what was draining the battery. He couldn't fined anything.
Long story short - the battery is still being discharged even though it looks like nothing is draining it (remove fuse for indoor lights).
Any tips on what it could be?
Many thanks

Perhaps check there isn't excessive current draw when the motor is off. Do you have any after market accessories such as a sound system?

faulty boot lamp switch?
or glove box lamp switch...
if its not charing at all, it can really only be the alternator or the alternator leads.. u can check to see if any accessories are draining the battery whilst the car is off using a multimeter and continue checking the battery voltage say every 5-10mins.
check this thread werid problems with my VS similar issue and one of the contacts were stuffed.
Faulty diodes in the alternator can cause the battery to discharge.
Check it at night in pitch blackness - look for light. Another source of problems is if an aftermarket immobiliser has been fitted - these often fail and result in battery drain.

get yourself a cheap multimeter from dicksmith/jaycar. then measure the current draw as been suggested above. if there is excessive curent draw, start pulling fuses to find the culprit. can also check the alternator is charging properly
