hey, just a quick question. i have a 1996 vs berlina v6, and i was wondering whether my car has a optional lsd in it or just a standard diff?
i have read somewhere that the diff's were optional in this model. is there any way of checking? codes on diff housing, things to look for? and no i dont wanna go out and leave some black marks to go check either...
im leaning towards that it does but im not sure, eg. the other day taking off i had one rear wheel in the dirt and one on the bitumen. i gave it too it and to my suprise the wheel in the dirt didnt spin its self out. it just took off with out even feeling like one wheel was in the dirt.
Diff could be flogged out. Get under the car if its a stock unmolested car you will see "high performance" tag on the right hand side rear of the diff. mine used to do what ur explaining....my diff went kaboom not long after now i have an lsd.
Look on your diff, there should be a tag that says 'LSD - High Performance'.
Looks like this on diff when you look at it from behind you car
Mmmmm V8
If you have a hoist or youi can somehow jack the rear of your car up you can check.
If you spin one of your wheels and other spins with it you have an LSD.
If only one spins you have a single pegger my friend.
sorry, i must have got mixed up.
well, what he said then....
