Just wondering if a LPG system from a VR will fit up fine to a VS or not?
Im looking at buying a second hand LPG tank and fittings and then getting it put in my VS.
Thanks
So much cheaper to just go and get a new one installed from an accredited LPG installer.
Cost me $400 out of pocket for the conversion.
Ive already claimed the rebate on another vehicle I had and there is a period of three years where you cant claim.
Ah ok. The gas system itself should be fine, though you need new copper lines, new fuel lines etc etc etc. Ring a gas place and check. Going Direct injection or mixer setup?
Hello I am new to this site,
just bought a VS sII 1997 with lpg and petrol having some trouble with car back firing through the air filter have changed plugs and new leads
It runs fine in cold weather but on hot days it start to backfire . Also when running on petrol runs ruff in hot weather
Could this be the censer on the harmonic balance been faulty ? Any help would be very appreciated
Thank you
Glenn
Its usually ignition - plugs should be one range colder - drop the gaps to 1mm if these are all ok then its coils or dfi module playing up tryout Pulstar plugs - they have stopped all my backfiring even though I had two coils fail - do a search on u tube & check out dyno tests on sparkplugs, com 411.
Liquid injection is the bees knees - but If your going positive converter - get a variable Blos mixer from Ebay the std one is very restrictive - with this you wont lose any power. Get a dual map memcal - you wont need a petrol start then as the computer starts it on petrol & then switches them & the fuel pump off - then you have the correct ignition map for LPG. Make sure your ignition is up to speed & run colder plugs & close the gap down to .7 - 1 mm better still get the Pulstar plugs do a search on you tube & google - dyno proof on sparkplugs.com / 411
They will stop any backfires - not many people know about them here but huge in the states - they will fire the plug until the coil just stops - no backfire at all. These three things make my car run just like it is on petrol but better - no loss of power - easy starting & cheaper & simpler than what many people fit. With the memcal it comes up on LPG straight away - you just have to run a wire from the changeover switch to the pcm - there are certain models of pcm that it works with though & that info is available on the site - just do not know how to send you the PDF file through the forum - you can find the correct way to wire it all up at Apexus including using your petrol gauge to read the lpg tank - if you want more details on the memcal just let me know - but most big LPG supplier's should be able to supply it & the pin you will need - memcal is around $140
