    Wink Vents Not Working

Hi all on my Vs Wagong i cant get any air coming through my air vents apart from the floor one, i've checked the vacum hoses on back of control switch ,all on and i also noticed i only got 2 speeds on the fan speed the last 2, do i need a whole new control and fan speed switch or not thanks.

    Hi,

It could also be a problem with the vacuum modulator that switches the vacuum to the different flaps.

I got the same problem with my car, sometimes it doesn't want to switch to face vents, so I'm going to replace the Climate unit and then the vac modulator

the vacuum modulator in question is ONLY in the berlina and calais models... If you have an exec (as your info says you do) then the vacuum is controlled/switched directly behind the dial in the centre console... i suggest you gently pull the assembly out and check to make sure all the tubes are connected to the back of the switch.

Be cafeful whilst you pull the assembly out, there is a rod that connected the temp dial to the heater bypass (drivers footwell, at your left toes when your foot is resting on the footrest), might pay to disconnect that rod (at the heater bypass area) before pulling out the assembly...

NOTE: when re-attaching it, put the dial in FULL COLD, and pull the plastic arm of the heater bypass as much as it goes (you will feel it press a little button) so when you clip the rod back on, the full cold position on the dial, matches full cold on the heater bypass. (There is also a vacuum line down there and that button is what controls the vacuum to the footwell vents i think)

As for the fan problem... it sounds to me like your fan resistor is blown on 2 of the settings... the resistor is located under the leafguard (under the windscreen wipers) and is a cheap swapover. maybe give that a try?

Did you also check to see if the vacuum hoses are connected on the other end to various parts behind the dash?

Is there any heat at all, is the air cond switched on? Might need to adjust your temprature rod which is just by your left foot in the centre console.

air con is off,no heat at all there was once today for a few seconds and all i played with was where the rod comes back onto a button that goes in when you do the hot or cold dial , i pushed it in and out couple of times and pulled the hoses off and then put them on then there was heat for short time but that was it and now there is none.

The rod and and the little button switch the heater tap on and off to let the hot water flow through the heater. Better check those again turning the hot/cold dial and watching the other end to see if it actuates

ok are you talking about the tap underneath the hood with the 4 hoses conected to it, so if i turn the dial the tap lever should move is that correct thanks.

the missing fan speeds can be the fan amplifier as above, it lives between the wipers under the plastic panel. When you turn the vent selector dial can you hear hissing from the selector? if so you need a new selector switch for the back with new seal.

ill check it tomorrow but is the lever on the tap suppose to move as described above , the one under the hood when you move dial as i think from memory mine goes in and stays in until turn of the car.
