    Exclamation VN TO VS transmissions

    Hey jus wonderin if the 3.8L buick block has the same gearbox holes as the 3.8L ecotech....?

    yes they have the same bolt pattern, but VN-VP autos are cable controlled, VR-VS are electronic controlled.

    what is your reason behind the question?

    Ohh relli?? Umm jus i got a vs burnout car and mate has 3 VN autos sittin round and he sed if they fit i can hav them as spares.... So it wont jus be able to bolt on and plug in??

    The earlier transmission will work how ever it may throw up an error code as obviously it's can't see the transmission being connected any more. Whether it throws up just the check engine light or puts it into limp home mode I am not sure.

    Ohh ok, well wont no if it brings up engine light dash is ripped out and been replaced with a more simple one... But it shud work? Or not too sure?

    not 100% sure, but from memory the wiring plug is different.

    i would have a search on the forum and have a read through some of the threads, i know its been asked before.

    asked a similair question before i think you only need to get the memcal or the puter redone to suit a manual box !! dont quote me tho ....
