Hey dus any 1 no wut colour wire the temp gauge signal wire is and wuts the other wire coming out of the sensor??
need to know which motor and then i can check a wiring diagram for you!~
Its a ecotech 3.8L in a vs![]()
okay hang on
crap that wiring diagram is on my laptop give me 5 minutes okay?
Ok thanx![]()
coolant temp sensor
connector ye106
yellow wire goes to power train control module
othe wire goes to ground internally in ecu as a reference
why do you need this info?
i am assuming from my diagram it has two wires coming out of it?
so signal wire to ecu is yellow and the
Jus need to know what wire to hook up to temp gauge as old dash has been ripped out as its a burnout car.... And dont know what colour wire is the temp signal behind the dash...
temp signal at the instrument plug? at dash the one i gave you is at the sensor hang on i will look up ipc wiring
in my diagram it says that it is part of the signals sent and recieved from ecm (engine module)
for a burnout car you may be better off just running a wire from the sensor or buying a gauge with a sender (temp are pretty cheap)
But i got old sensor plugged in and jus wanna no wut colour the signal is behind the dash so i can jus plug it in, already got a elec temp gauge...
well my diagrams dont say it says one wire does overheat engine oil and water and auto trans so.....
easiest way to find out is to use a multimeter on ohms and go from sensor plug with one end and other end probe ewach of the wires at the ipc plug if theres one there it will come up as like 10 ohms
if not run awire straight from the sender into cabin soz mate about all i can do for you
ok thanx bud will try that
Theres two sensors for the coolant temp on the VS engine, a single wire one for the temp gauge in the dash, and another multi wire sensor for the ECU.The VS wiring diagram I have shows a Black/yellow wire, and a plain Yellow wire coming from the coolant temp sensor.(the one for the ECU,not the temp gauge). The yellow wire goes straight to the ECU,actually to ECU terminal pin number B5(middle pink ECU plug). The other Black/yellow wire joins the Black/yellow wire that goes to the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) from the ECU,or ECU connector terminal E16 (blue ECU connector). The temperature gauge coolant temp sender is near the ECU coolant temp sensor on the front of the engine. It only uses a single green wire from the temp gauge to the sender unit on the engine.
So your saying the signal wire behind the dash cluster is only a single green wire?
