hi guys, i have a vs commodore v6 with the auto, it seems to be leaking fluid where the actual dipstick mates with the gearbox.
My question is how do i go about getting this out? does it press fit? Screw in? and i suspect there is an "o" ring in there?/
cheers
There should be a bolt on the converter housing holding the dipstick tube in place.Remove this bolt, and the dipstick and its tube will pull up and out of its hole.Id say theres an o ring seal on the end of the tube there somewhere. Also Ive never heard of the 4 speed auto in the VS V6 commodore being called an A4 ,Ive always known it as the 4L60E.Also theres a filter and a magnet inside the transmission pan.The filter should be changed and the magnet cleaned regularly. The filter kits are cheap to buy. Cheers
thanks mate, there was a bolt on the head with a bracket holding it in place, i dont know what the boxes are called so i just said a4 meaning auto 4 speed. cheers for the info
