air intake problems

does anyone know what would cause back firing out of the air intake on a vs commodore and it not being able to rev? my engine idles rough and when i try to rev it, it just stalls? mayb fuel or air sensors? just put an after market out of tank fuel pump in, just wondering if maybe its not giving enough pressure? what pressure does the stock vs pump put out?

sounds more like spark timing to me mate, is it a 6 or 8?

I'd be first checking the coilpacks & DFI module. If you have a mate with a VS swap the whole DFI moduel with the coilpacks on it and try that. Only takes a few minutes to swap.

it is getting spark tho, held one of the plugs near the block and got a nice blue arch. but could the coil packs\DFI module still be a bit faulty or something?

Its pretty common that the coilpacks crack and leak spark. Also the DFI modules go too. Also check the connection on the DFI module Ive had a few that have some corrosion in the connector.
