Check the basics - 02 Sensor, Fuel Filter, Tires, Driving Style, Leaks, Pressure Regulator..

Are you getting any error codes?
Do you smell fuel all the time?
    Are you a lead foot?

I get ~600kms for my 5ltr but thats a steady foot on monstly highways + some around town. Average consumption is usually around or under 10ltrs/100km.

    Thanks,

I have a 5L and 5 speed in my VN. I get around 13-13.5L/100 around town, and it's dyno tuned too. But my week is a mix of putting along and the odd squirt just to hear the sound haha. Haven't had a really long constant drive to test highway kms, but i can tell it will be excellent.

I don't think they will ever be superb on juice, but you don't buy a v8 (especially a 5L) cause it sips on fuel.

BUT 200km to a tank is horrible! check out the sensors (as said) and see what the trouble codes say. As something isn't right there
Hit me up with some reputation points if i've helped you out! (Star in the bottom left!) Cheers!

I get 420-440 around town out of a 60 litre tank, thats about 14-15L/100Kms.

    Highway I get about 600-650.

    Hello.

I had the same problem when I purchased my secondhand VS 5ltr. it was simply the thermostat was staying open therefore taking allot longer to reach normal operating temperature and running shit loads richer. Removed and replaced. Sweet............

200kms to a tank certainly aint right.

Around town with a mix of peak hour and highway/freeway driving I get around 460 - 480km to the fuel light. Generally works out between 13 & 13.5ltrs per 100 kms.

Haven't been on a long road trip for a long time but last time I did worked out to be less than 10 ltrs per 100km and that was the car fully loaded as well.

That thermostat idea sounds about right. I used to get aorund 12 or 13 L/100k. Took the thermostat out now i get around 16L per 100. Might put one back in there.

i dunno bout these people saying they getting 600 kms out of tank, maybe if they got 100l tanks or something stupid but anyways i normally get 350 out of a tank with normal driving without thrashing it. 400 if im lucky on freeway
