    Default over heated unknown why

    hey how it going, ok i have had my exhaust system replaced my engine mounts gear mount shocks replaced i then had my radiator thermo stat and a service just recently and replaced my alternater but for some BEEPN reason when my car is stop at lights or whatever right b4 my eyes from my normal half and and lower heat my heat jumps past the "H" and the red line and started smoking and that realy pissing me off bad aye have no clue iv done so much but find another prob, help me out gimme clue what could be, i was think cracked hose and the what is leaking on something hot that would explain the smoke or steam what ever it was and im guessing my slight lose of power to

    CHeck if your pump herped and derped it's self?


    Maybe your belt herped or the coolant level derped
    My mates integra is quicker den my Ve ss wagen.

    You may need to bleed the cooling system. Car will overheat very quickly if there is the least bit of air in the cooling system. Search on this forum for how to do it.

    I work at a mechanics and if we flush the system we don't even bother bleeding the air out afterwards, so who knows.

    Check if the engine fan is coming on. It should come on if the air conditioning compressor is engaged, or if it reaches a certain temp.

    Bleed the system. Open the bleed screw on the top of the t/stat housing and run it up to temp, then close it, let it cool off and refill radiator.

    Or take it back to whoever replaced your thermostat and ask them to finish the job.
