Hi all, there isn't much covering this so, does anyone know the specifics of installing SCA foggies seeing as I just finished installing the bezels and $400 odd for fog lights isn't really appealing. I'm assuming I'll have to hard wire them in or find a suitable plug but what can be done about them not sitting flush to make it look more legit like shrouds or something and the what kind/type/shape of bracket? I'll probably get the lights tomorrow so I won't know how they mount untill then. So any photos or pointers would be awesome.
I also saw something about a writeup on SC but couldn't find that, if someone who knows about that can PM me the link that would help a lot I reckon.
search for a thread called "Nicks VR", or PM him i think there's either good info / wiring diagrams in his thread or he knows about it.

i know the write up on SC, the bloke had a red vs, cant remember his name, and as nathanVS said, search for Nicks VR on here
i have the SCA lights same idea as you have done a trial fit but dont have the bezels done so i dont know how close it would be. from memory i did have to drill out a hole to mount them and you will have to spin the lights 180deg in there holder as the top of the lights will be at the bottom, there is "top" ectched in them. i cant find the wiring diag but will post it up when i do
Let me know how you go, post some pics I'd be keen on non genuine foggies too.

The lights will have a diagram
Cheers guys, I'll make sure I take some photos when I do get around to it.
Yeah fingers crossed it will work because the diagram on it has pos in then neg going to earth which I find strange but I'm hoping I can have it just going pos in neg out like the plugs have. Should only blow a relay/fuse if it doesn't work then I'll just earth the negs how it wants instead.
Test light is ur best friend I've wired mine to the relay then to the wiring...but dice changed them to a switch so Ivan run them them ever I like...
I got lucky with mine, paid $200 all up for a series II calais front bar with the foglights too. That included the $50 postage. When i put in the stato dash i used its dash loom which had the foglight wiring and it plugged right in. I put in a factory relay (already had the front end wiring in the car) and tested for power, seemed to work fine

So I was having a look how they'll fit up and I don't think it will be too bad there isn't much gap, doubt they'll cross over how there supposed to cause of how they'll sit but I dunno and apparently I also grabbed driving lamps not fog lights, whatever the difference is there but what ever they'll do.
good to hear they'll fit up nice, looking forward to some pics
driving lights are stronger and are more of a direct beam, fog lights have a wide beam. driving lights are meant to be used only with hi beam where as fog lights work with parkers and actually switch off lo-beam when you hit the switch
Right so I got around to fitting it all in even though I wasn't keen because I had to work so I drilled some holes wrong but I'll point em out.
So I got some spare flat bar from the workshop, not sure of thickness or width but it was 180mm long, but might be 50mm wide. I have the holes for the foggies in my reo but I'm not sure if other models have it but you could probably just tech screw it in cause thats easy, or drill the holes but whatever.
Thats how much overhang I had maybe 20mm and my fingers look creepy in that photo for some reason, I did all the measurements a bit rough because I was just gonna get more flat bar from work if I stuffed up but its not hard because you have space for mistakes on the metal because you can just flip it/slide it down a bit.
I used 5/16 bolts and had to drill out the holes in the reo a bit but bunnings was closing in 5 mins and I didn't give a #### and thats also why I don't have washers, you could get some wider metal so it comes out further but the way I did it worked out alright but but the techs I use make it hard to angle the light so maybe something with more length would give more play because with the hole to the side the plastic bit gets caught on the screw but it still moves ok it just make it harder, the smaller bit was just a guess on the drop saw so I don't know the length.
Thats the two bits teched together but the hole on the smaller bit is wrong which I'll show the corrected bracket later on.
Thats what it should have been but I sorta made the drivers side first without checking clearances.
Thats the correct bracket because with the hole in the middle the mounting bolt for the light hits the reo so you gotta move it to the side so you can also point the light forward, because it's on to much of an angle otherwise.
It ends up something like that under the car.
Gap between bar and light.
How it looks installed.(crap photo)
Now I haven't wired it but I wrapped the wires together to check and it worked alright, I think their actually brighter than my high beams because they are focused through the bar and driving lights not foggies. Also they will work with all light settings from parkers to high beams with the foggy switch turning them on and off. I'll take a photo with them on once I wire it up and get them pointing in the same direction.
I might consider buying fog lights but the lamps will be mad for driving at night, but I probably wont because its pretty hard tightening the nuts so I don't want to do it again, you'll need to small spanners/shifters for the bolts in the bar but the bolt on the fog light is trickiest, a socket with a bit of depth and one of those short handle ratchets would be best but I used a normal ratchet tightening it very slowly.
Very nice mate! how much did it end up setting you back?

In this photo, the hole just visible in the middle, just in front of the glass, is where i drilled out to fit up my light in the quick mock up i did. it looks like its in a perfect spot which will leave mininal gap between the bar and light.
in your fitting trial did you try that hole and it didnt work or? does it line up centre wise?
Might be something i'll have another crack at next weekend..
Cost about $43, 40 for the lights 3 for the bolts, not sure how much the flat bar is worth though.
That hole might work actually, I didn't think of using it because I wasn't planning on drilling out the reo, the only thing is under the car you don't think you have to angle it as far in as you have to. I think in that photo the light isn't even pointing straight yet its still pointing out to the side a bit. Wouldn't hurt to try because if it didn't work, you can just use the other holes.
Did you get those lights from super cheap mate? thinking of getting a pair again lol
Yeah got em from super cheap, might go down and get the actual fog lights not the driving lamps because I hooked them up and with parkers they worked but with headlights/high beams the drivers side went dim, now that may have been because the car was off but probably not and now I can swap out the gay yellow fog lenses for the driving lamp clears.
Also first design fault don't use tech screws while I was hooking them up one light fell on me cause both heads snapped and the other had one snapped so I just wriggled it a bit and snapped the other. I'll just drill em out and replace with some little bolts.
