Hey.
I got a stock vr 5.0l auto sedan with irs. The only mod is a self tuned chip.
I decided to take it to the drags, I had 1/2 tank of 98 bp fuel, took the spare tyre and jack out and dropped the rear tyre pressures to 30psi.
It ran consistent 15.1 sec passes. Is this about right? wot do you guys reckon? or wot times do you run?
(also my mate ran his stock vr 6cyl and got 16.1sec)
Did you have fun?? Because running consistent times are what its all about, but most of all its about having fun
Cheers Daniel
it's right in the ballpark. consistent times are the best indicator![]()

I think auto helps a lot, makes leaving the start line very repeatable. Although I probably did the wrong thing and detuned down low to avoid wheel spin on the launch ( if a 15 sec car can launch, hehe ). I ve got a lsd and 3.7 gears to go in soon. Funny how a trip to drags impoves your motivation! Hopefully that should see a 14.9 sec pass. I removed the stock air filter for half the runs and made no difference.
It was fun because I was hoping for 15.5sec.
Thanks for your input guys.
nice time.
i run consistent 13.9 in my hilux and it gets extremely addictive.
let us know how you go with your timeslips
