Trans question?

Hi guys!

I have just recently bought a 98 series3 statesman with 210000 on the clock..


Only problem i have is that every now an then if i slow to 80ks an then hit the resume button on the cruise to go back to 100 it stays in third gear?even once its reached 100 it just holds 3rd gear? it only happens every now an then but i wana find out whats going on?

I just done a self check and it came up with code 85? Looking at the code list tho there is no 85?

Id try the test again and double check the flash counts.As you have said,theres no error code 85,well not that I could find any info on anyway.
