Default vn 5 speed into a vr series2 can it be done

Hi there I was wanting to put a T5 out of a vn v6 into a vr series 2 auto v6 sedan and was asking for advice to see if it can be done , The local fellas tell me that the crank sharfts are diffrent is this true? any help would all taken on board. I do have all wiring computer and stuff to do the convertion but would like to know if anybody has done it before I pull the car apart and find it can not be done.

Series 1 had the 6 bolt Series 2 8 I believe. So if it's out of a Series 2 VN it will bolt up. I think.
