Thumbs up Hidden feature in speed alert

Hello Fellow Commodore enthusiests, This is my first post on this forum and I have a cool trick for people who drive VR/VS Commos with the speed alert feature. With ignition off, hold down the 2 up and down arrows on the speed alert, turn on ignition while holding them down and the speed alert becomes a digital speedo, only drawback is the orange light flashes really brightly.

Id like to know why some speed alert units will set to a permanent digital speedo and some will only set to digital speedo with the orange flashing light blinking, these ones also reset themselves back to the speed alert once the car is turned of and on again. Some will stay on the speedo with no flashing orange light and will stay on speedo permanently even if the car is turned off and on.It has nothing to do with the car model the unit comes from because Ive seen some VR ones will set permanent and some wont, and some VS ones will set permanent and some wont.

This has been covered before but welcome to the forum quite an impressive first post

if you hold down the 2 arrows and switch the ignition on, it turns on the speedo temporarely (sp)

if you hold all 3 buttons down for 10-15sec, it will set it as a speedo permanently. now once done, it will only show the speedo after a delay (or after the engine is running), it will show 100 when ignition is on without the blinking light.
