Default Autometer oil press. gauge wiring

Installing an autometer oil pressure gauge in my VS v6. I'm not very electronically minded.... The sender T piece part is fitted up and all, just the wiring from the gauge that is the issue..

earth i understand... But where do i splice in for the illumination 12v and also the ignition switch 12v? where is the best point to do this?

    Pics would me appreciated... Thanks

sorry mate but cat help you with pics
for the illumination you want any wire that gets active when you turn your parking lights on
the wire that illuminates around the ciggy lighter orone of the wires that goes to your air vent controls all have a wire running on parkers

the 12 volt wire from the ignition, i usually tap into the positive wire that runs to the ciggy lighter

Like above, any accessories or ignition switched 12v will be fine to provide your power. Cigarette lighter is always a good choice as in the event it blows the fuse you'll only lose that and not something more important. Have a look on the back of your fuse panel cover and the sticker there identifies what each is for and whether its constant, accessories or ignition switched. As for your illumination, I always pick the interior illumination circuit to splice into. Once again, look for its location on the same sticker. All wiring I do I splice into in the back of the fuse panel so you'll have to remove the horizontal plastic cover under the fuses and back to the firewall.
I must emphasise to splice into the bottom wire of the two as the top wire to the fuse blade will still have power even when the fuse has blown i.e if you splice the top wire its not actually fused, only the bottom wire is.
