Brake Troubles????

Hi guys,

I have just changed the front brake pads in my 98 s3 vs statesman...

BUT for some reason now when i slow down they make a screeching sound...? Y would this be if they are new pads???

yeah did you bed them in? did you get greasey fingers on them? and finally are they cheapest they had in store or did you get some crazy hard racing pads?

+1 for correctly bedding them in.

Also, did you install the anti squeel springs in properly? (the little springy bits on the top of each pad)

Generally, a good hard braking or two, (from about 60km/hr) will get rid of squeeling, which is caused by the glazing of the brake pads. (Removes the glaze)
