T5 VN 5 Speed Manual into VS help

Ok so the last 2 cars i have bought off my mate he has converted himself using T5's. The speedo wont work because the VN sent a different signal from the gearbox to the tacho. He described it as the VN sends square signals whereas the VS uses round signals.

Is there a converter kit to fix this? Or is there something else i can do?

Also ive noticed that the odometer doesnt work in this car, would this be to do with the tacho not working? Or would it be the little gear behind it?

Any advise or personal experiences would be great

I'd say the odometer and speedo are the same problem, I'm sure any capable auto elec would be able to sort the problem out.
Was the tacho working before the conversion?

The speedo was working, not 100% sure about the odometer.
