    thanks for the help on balancer removal. i forgot to ask, if it's so tight how does it go back on?
    probably a large socket and hammer. thanks again.

    The first bit will just push on by hand enough for you to line up the keyways. Start to thread in the centre bolt then as its long enough to engage and use it to draw the balancer all the way upto the shounder till it bottoms out.

    My Holden Service Manual says 190 Nm (140 lb-ft) minimum. Man, that's tight !!!

    Oops, that's for a V8, V6 is even tighter 270 - 325 Nm (200 - 240 lb-ft).

    When I did mine I tightened it as much as much as possible using a socket then drove it down to a workshop and got them to torque it up with a rattle gun.
