Hi, so i bought a VS series II acclaim a month ago. today i bought a new cd player, forgot about the alarm, i cut the wires off the current cd player that it had in and then the alarm went off, the unlock button on my key didn't turn it off, my dad opened the hood and said i needed a special key to turn the alarm off (which i never got from the dealer)
i tried to re-plug the old cd player and no luck, the alarm does not go off when i turn the key on (and i can even drive) but as soon as it's off and the doors are open the alarm goes off. i can shut all the doors and actually lock the car (the alarm shuts up) however the locking doesn't lock the car like it used to anymore.
We tried to take fuses out and we even cut 1 of the 2 wires on the alarm and no luck, removing battery just makes the alarm go on.
right now car is in my driveway with the doors unlocked but the alarm on (it's not ringing) and now what's my options. tomorrow morning dad suggested i go to an auto electrician to get it sorted, anyone else have any ideas?
If you can, go back to the dealer. Failing that, if you want to keep the alarm in working condition go to an auto electrician. If you don't want to keep the alarm, locate the actual alarm horn and disable it by shoving an old sock in it to quiten it and then cut the wires to it so as it will stop when the battery runs down.
The car should have a statutory warranty if you bought it from a dealer and that should cover the alarm. Good Luck.
