i have a vs 5speed v6 with 2 1/4" exhaust with extractors,CAI and am looking at getting some mace products.im gunna get sum hi ratio rockers(thats a definate)but i was thinkn of gettn a new modified memcal.my questions are:
1)is there a better part to get other than a memcal?(such as manifold or plenium spacers etc)???
2)what gives the best power gains?
any help would be great

Sorry for the caps above but it stands out easier,not yelling obviouslly.
You havent gone overkill with the exhaust,good start.2 1/4 is plenty for a N/A 3800.With the above parts and 3.9 or 4.11's the whole combo with appropriate MEMCAL will hook along quite suprisingly.Up to 100kmh/r,5ltrs with exhaust will be had no worries.You want to bring the above combos power foward sooner into the rev range and not having to wait.Think of diff gears as taking away turbo lag somewhat.
These mods will yield around 130rwkw but very early if you add the diff gears.Very under estimated modification as one cant see his hard earned so to speak.3.9's can be had from R31 Skylines or the Pintara's had 4.11's.Pintara gears seem to be always in good nick 2nd hand as the oldies drive them mainly,its the case in Adelaide anyway.

With all the problems in VS & earlier with cam bearings I wouldn't touch higher ratio rockers & higher rated valve springs at all.. Fit a small camshaft & a double row timing chain disconnect the balance shaft.
I have a 3.7 ratio diff & it makes a lot of difference - its not too many revs for the highway & still gets good fuel economy - you will need to fit a Speedo converter to the output from the gearbox so your speedo is right & the ECM knows whats going on..
Don't go with cooler thermostat as it will just inject more fuel as the ECM will think the engine is cold. If that's not enough & you want serious power go with a remote or upfront turbo / supercharger
A good quality Memcal is a good start but avoid EBAY - get something reputable - ChipTorque is one & talk to them about a cam to match the memcal. As for Mace products forget about the spacers - make up some bell mouths yourself (Autospeed has an article about this using modified stainless egg cups from kitchen suppliers) or buy some as what they are doing is just lengthening the inlet tube - which increases torque - if you fit bell mouths inside the manifold - you can get better performance than the spacers as you can go much longer - remove the plastic cover from the manifolds & leave it off & maybe fit a small bonnet scoop directly over it as this just traps the heat in -
These guys below are off the forum & can do memcals as well - Chiptorque would have the dyno experience though & know what cam to fit.

thanks for the info guys.i was thinkn of gettn sum 3.7s diff gears but didnt know wat models they were off cause i have a solid rear axle.so r31 skyline diff centres will fit????
bpefi-hey mate thanks for the info about the spacers could u point me in the direction of where id find out sum more about the egg cup and how its installed.also with the memcals if i get one can i just plug it in and of ya go or is there more to it????
the 25mm manifold insulator makes a huge difference, can't recommend it enough.

Well go to Autospeed & have a look otherwise just buy some - might have to have the manifold machined - but worth it - talk to ChipTorque do a search for both on Google The VS engine / trans is in my Hilux dualcab - but there are other around that will fit if you look around the forum - its all been talked about before
