aircon problems ... can u help?

ok i got a few issues with my VR's aircon system,

the first is there is a whinging sound as i idle and as i get up to high revs and about to change gears its gets much louder then dies off as the gear changes.

im 95% sure its coming from the connection going from the aircon unit into the car, i can move it around pretty freely but without breaking anything.

Are they supposed to be tight and cant move???

whats the price im looking at to replace the whole aircon part in the engine bay?

or is it possible to completely leave the aircon system out by just not connecting it to the timing belt??

Are you sure its not the belt drive to the aircon compressor slipping and squealing because it isnt tight enough. A new compressor fitted costs about $1000. If the aircon has a separate belt which only drives the aircon then you can disconnect it.
