im not sure whats happened because ive never heard of this happen before.
but one day i noticed the wipers jumping around and making thuds when i had them on.
and today when i used them on the way home they just stopped working.
they would try kick on in the intermittent mode but without physical help they wouldnt swing.
does it sound like a motor is ceased or dead?
if so anyone know what price range im looking at for supplied and installed?
cheers, Nick
either the thread in the wiper arm itself is buggered or the motor is gone id say, best option would be to get a second hand wiper assembly off ebay or someting and fit it yourself. they arnt hard,a few screws and they come out
As the above post suggests, check the wiper arm isn't buggered by trying to move the arms by hand....not too hard but just enough to see if the shaft/spline is stripped.

sounds like the motor assembly as become detached from the rest of the wiper assembly.
mine did it the other day, same symptoms.
mechanic has told me the motor is dead! and apparently no1 makes them for a VS anymore,
so this is where JC kicks in,
does anybody at all know where i can get one this is kinda urgent due to melbournes rediculous weather.
just as you think your car is running smooth something else ####s up.
and ps cheers for the replies guys
