    Unhappy Vs ute won't start

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum. Got myself a vs ute which was column shift auto, I have now replaced with a t5 5spd manual. My brother wrote off his vs ute which I removed complete driveline, wiring harness, PCM and bcm. Now it's all installed and wont start. Accessories come on but no fuel pump (makes me think key and bcm) by bypassing fuel pump relay fuel pump engages and works fine. No cranking happens at all. No power to starter relay wire while trying to start either. Tried leaving key on for 50 min, tried resetting f/pump (bcm) fuse.. Still nothing.. Any help out there fellas?? Thanks

Did you swap over the dash / console wiring harness as well? From what I remember, the manuals from factory had a patch loom that bridged a wire just where the shifter / handbrake is.
Its the neutral safety switch you need to bridge

Thanks Tezza. I'll have to try that once I get back to the shed. Being a bench seat hand brake is down beside drivers side door. Any ideas where the loom/connector/pins are or where they may be? The original neutral switch loom would have been removed with the old auto engine harness if I am correct(not to sure) although coming through the floor in the tunnel there is a white barrel shaped connector?? Thanks Tezza uv got my brain ticking. Would it still run fuel pump if it is thinking it is in gear? Thanks mate

You mentioned waiting for 50 minutes for the immobiliser bypass time, the bypass time for the VS is 45 minutes for a series 1 VS,and 120 minutes for a series 2 VS.Is it series 1 or 2?

Hi James. Yes I think I have the correct key head. Having 3 commodores you soon do lose track. I have know found that the neutral park switch is not bridged or connected obvious as auto ain't there no more. Thanks Tezza. Does anybody know which wires to join together? Total 4 wires. 2 grey with blue stripe a green and a purple I think. Cheers

I thought you can by pass that in the engine bay some where? The other wires might be reverse lights? Might be best to use the manual loom?

There is a thread on here which tells you what wires to bridge. If you still have the manual ute the gearbox came out of have a look near the shifter and there is a plug which you can unplug and plug into your loom

Thanks Brett, James and Tezza. I plugged the park neutral switch off the auto into the connector that came through the floor. And wowww it cranked, but still no fuel pump or ignition. Tried key for 120 minutes aswell. I am one step closer thanks guys. I'll cut the connector off the park neutral switch to bridge it. Any more ideas fellas???? Cheers

I also have no reverse lights. Manual loom is connected up to reverse sensor. So will bridging this at the park neutral switch make the manual reverse switch work or is there somewhere else I Hav to change things around aswell? Thanks
