hi guys i went to start my vs series 2 v6 auto after work and there was nuthing ,the dash lights come on but i turn the ignition all the way to start and theres nuthing at all no click no starter motor crankin its just dead quiet ,im pretty sure i can hear the fuel pump priming but where the car is parked is abit loud so was hard to tell, the headlights seem strong [heaps of power], i checked the fuses they seemed good not sure about the relays but i think there all original from 1997. 1 thing my car has done for at least 2 or 3 years is it usally doesent start straight up ,its like the starter motor is turning over real slow/sluggish and struggling for a few seconds , then sumtimes it just starts pretty much straight up nice and sharp could the starter motor just died ? the alternator and battery are about 3 years old i havent checked computer codes yet but i will when i go to work in the morning where my car is parked just after any ideas plz guys cheers muz o and the crank angle sensor is only about 12 months old also the battery in my key is like 5 years old not sure if it works cause the buttons are gone could this have anything to do with the ignition ?

It could be the starter motor itself or the wires connecting to the starter motor could be loose. Also you can check neutral start switch or ignition barrel.
sounds like (no sound :P) starter motor
Hi Muzza
Try locking the car with the central locking then unlock then try to start. If this works you probably just have to get a new key.
ok i just drove into where my car is and it starts perfectly , first i tested the central locking to c if the keys batterey was flat it worked then i started the car a few times no problem ,i should of mentioned that the 2 buttons on the key remote fell out ages ago and i made sum new ones with foam ear plugs cut down to fit in the 2 holes and then taped over lol dont laugh it worked for ages but today i redid the foam [buttons]i made and i think one of them [the unlock or lock button might have been stuck in , any 1 no if that would hurt the signal the remote needs to start the car ?
if it was stuck in lock might do, but needs to key head battery to be ok to work.
