    Default 1998 statesman blown head gasket

    HELLO HAVE BLOWN MY HEAD GASKETS IN MY 1998 STATESMAN I HAVE A 1994 VR 3800 LONG ENGINE WITH ONLY 220 000KM ON IR AND ITS A SWEET RUNNER CAN I BOLT MY ECOTEC INTAKE ECT AND BOLT IT IN MY CAR ALL INFO WILL BE GREAT THANKS COOMERA MICKY

    Welcome to the forum.
    Unfortunately the engine in your '98 Statesman will be the Ecotec engine(unless it's a V8) and the '94 will be the Buick version. Legally you must fit the Ecotec engine for pollution reasons plus wiring etc....also the transmission will not match the VR engine as it has different plugs despite having the same internals.

    Default blown head gasket v6 ecotec

    Hello thanks for that ? if i add the intake manifold from the ecotec will it all bolt in , i will be leaving the gearbox in the car cheers coomera micky

    You need to stick with the ecotec motor and parts. Cant fit the earlier buick v6. Why not just replace all the top end gaskets and have your heads machined? Or chase up a good second hand set of heads?
    Also if you're suggesting doing a complete motor swap you'll pick up a complete ecotec pretty cheap these days
