    Default VS Aerial Module

Hi I’m having a problem with my aerial module! The problem is when I turn the car off or the radio off the aerial goes down fine like it should. But when I turn the radio back on or turn the acc back on the aerial goes up only about 4cm then it stops. I hear like a clicking noise coming from the module when this happens as if the timer has kicked in to stop the aerial at that point. I then have to use the up button to get it all the way up. Its connected to the original head unit and is on the factory fitted loom. The aerial is the eletcric Aerpro, but somehow I think the module is playing up

Where is the problem? Is there away in setting the height you want for the aerial??? Or resetting the timer on the module, or is my module stuffed!!!!

can anyone help me out here with info on this module?

mate that clicking noise is the toothed cable inside the mast clicking on the retract/extend mechanism

Suggest you replace it. The Aerpro on my Calais (replacement of the OEM original) only seemed to last around five years. Started playing up and steadily got worse. Only good thing is the brackets from the current Aerpro can be used which saves some mucking around.

if the motor goes up all the way but wont come back down its either
a rope and mast - as the teeth on it are worn (in the direction that takes more force)
    OR
motor assmly(comes with mast)- as the gearing can move in and out after lot of wear causing it to slip off the gear inside the case

When it's fully extended, get a rag soaked in turps, thinners, degreaser or something like that, clean the mast very well, get rid of the grey stuff and have the stainless steel shining, and then give it a spray or rub a rag soaked in WD40 or something like that on it. Fixes most of the electric antenna problems.
