Default Vt front seats in a Vr wagon.

Hi i was wondering if this is true. A local wrecker told me that fitting a vt seats into a vr wagon is illigal due to the vt seat having a gassed cartridge on the seat belt buckle which engages in a accident making the seat belt push right down to hold you in the seat. I noticed a vt seat seating there with what looks like a cartidge next to the buckle on a drivers seat.

Is this true that these when installed wrong can possibly kill you or a child thats in that seat.

OR is this guy telling me a crock off s**t ?

Another thing is do these seats bolt straight into a vr wagon by that i mean the railings and do the bolt heads line up the same as a vr seat ?

    thanks

In Vic to fit seats not offered by the manufacturer for a particular model would require an engineers certificate to be roadworthy.

The gas cartridge is a seat belt pre-tensioner, used to compensate for the 'spooling' of the rolled up portion of the belt.
