HSV VS ISS SECURITY SYSTEM FOR A series 2 ?WILL IT fit into a VS series 111

HELLO ALL...IVE LOST MY RED HSV ISS TAG>> I CAN SOURCE A NEW ISS SYSTEM NEW IN BOX BUT IT IS A SERIES 2, I KNOW A LOT OF PPL AINT GOING TO KNOW TO MUCH ABOUT THIS AS THE ISS IS NOW 14 YO,I CAN GET A NEW SERIES 2 HSV ISS SYST FOR $750, WHAT IM NEEDING TO KNOW IS IF THE SERIES 2 IS THE SAME AS THE SERIES 3 ISS SYSTEM AND THEN IF SO WHAT AND WHO WOULD BE NEEDED TO GET THE NEW ISS SYST INTO MY UTE.....IM REALY NOT WANTING TO GO AND BUY IT FROM EBAY IF IT DOSNT SUIT MY VS SERIES 111 MALOO....ANY HELP ON THIS MATTER WOULD BE OF GREAT HELP....THANKS FOR YOUR TIME, BEST WISHES AND KIND REGARDS TO ALL.MERRY XMAS AND A BETTER UP AND COMMING NEW YEAR

i know this is gonna be a tuff 1 to get an answer on,,,,,but hey some holden nuts gotta know somthing lol..............next best thing ill have to do is ring hsv,and leave my vin on a msg machine and thay will get back to me after thay verify im the owner.............nice 1 hsv

Losing the red tag is unfortunate but it just means that you can't introduce new (black) tags to the ISS system. The system is still fully functional using the black tags.

Yes from what ive been told a vs 2 wont fit into a vs 3 as the pcu is diff

If you have a new key cut and programmed for your car fitted with ISS security, then no you don't have to have that introduced with the red tag. The red tag is used to introduce new (black) immobiliser tags only as far as I'm aware.

its an add on to the immobizer , a hsv part. im not sure were it goes but this iss systen is supposed to be an add on to the immobilizer(thats what i can work out from the manul)

cool so if i get a new key and key head it will be ok to use....i must of got misssed up when i red the hsv manual ? i thought it said to intro new keys to the iss you will need the red tag? ill go have a read and try and get my head around my iss prob....i thought i was stuffed when the head and key im using now goes flat? i thought (shit im stuffed if i cant addd the new head to the iss? ill get back to you....thanks for popping in and giving some feedback,,,,cheers

You won't have a problem getting a new key head. The ISS system (black/red dongle) and the remote/key are separate from each other (assuming you have the connector in the centre console/arm rest). For models such as the VX (not sure about the VT) the ISS is integrated with the normal key/remote. Note that the key part (metal) can be attached to the new remote, you don't have to get a new key cut (although most places, such as Mister Minute, also cut you a new key).

is the black/red dongle the little plastic thing that you push onto the immobilizer part under the arm rest.(thats where it is on my senator if im thinking of the same thing)

its in the glove box on the ute,,,,i never have to use the black dongy to start the car.in goes the key and she disarms (never had to use the black dony thing at all?

is there a way to disable it. it can get annoying having to out the key in. disable the immobilizer then start the car.

not sure. mines just set like that....no dongy needed to start.do you have the hsv book? it may explain it in there...i dont ever have to use the dongy( not sure why)its arms and resets fine just no dongy neeeded to start the car,cheers

na the car didn't have the manual with it when i got it. i wish it did tho. i was told there is a way to disarm it but im not sure if this is true or not

the system is supplied with black tages and 1 red master tag.the red master tag is used ONLY to delete stored codes for lost tags or to introduce new user tags and ignition keys to the system.this is the only way for tags and keys to be introduced to the system and if the red tag is lost the iss system has to be replaced (i thought i read it right in the 1st place) so in other words what i thought wad right( when my battery goes flat on my keyhead in farked)unless i can use the black dongy to disarm the iss ,ive read dr bob can overide the iss.......as for i cant find in the book anything about di arming the iss tag.....

To put the immobiliser into system override mode, first ensure that the immobiliser is disarmed and the ignition switched ON. Press and hold the TAG against the recess in the status monitor. After three seconds the LED will start to flash quickly. The LED will continue to flash quickly to warn you that immobiliser is still in override mode. Once system override mode has been entered, the immobiliser will remain in this mode until the TAG is touched against the recess in the status monitor.

That must be how mines is set up,is it revurse to get it so i havee to use the black dongy to start the car as i wouldnt mind using that way,and 1 more thing? Do i need the red tag to do it

it said in the hsv man on iss that new key heads must be intoduced with the red tag.....i can still turn the iss off with the black tag,but to introduce new keyheads or black tags i must have the red tag to put the system into learn mode>>>>you may stilll be rite and im reading the book wrong>?? will it remain in overide mode when driving? and being in overide mode is there a way to sneek a newkeyhead into the stystem? without the iss knowing as now its in overide mode?

HSV do still have new black tags for sale, I just bought one! They had about 25 left in stock at $60 each. I also bought a spare recepticle $25 (where key touches to arm/disarm) I've just been through the learning process of the iss!!! When i bought my vs s11 senator, it only came with one black iss key (no red master), thought to myself I wouldn't mind a spare just in case, my local hsv dealer told me that they were able to programme black iss key through scan2 tech tool and a phone call to hsv, quoted me $85 to do it, so I booked it in. Guess what? They couldn't do it, they need the red master key!! NO SHIT, this is what i freekin told the guy before I even booked it in, I dont have the red master key!! GRR... So a waste of an hour of my time, but at least there was no charge, LUCKY!! I considered buying that kit off ebay last time it was up for auction, as they are no longer available. However, I was very easily able to get a spare ignition key and 3-button remote programmed without red master key.

so???? you can get a keyhead done??? no red tag needed? im sure it said in the hvs manual that a red tag is needed? is your a v2 or v3 and is there a diff? who did the spare ignition key for you and how did you intro it to the car, i never use my black tag i just keep it with my keys,,thanks a bunch..ps were you getting you iss info? from the manual?
