    Default Vr power steering pump.

    Hi i have a problem with my mrs vr wagz when you turn left the pump go loud as all f**k unlike when you turn right. Its leaking power steering fluid aswell.

    Is the whole pump under pressure and is it hard to replace it at home ?

    pump is only under pressure when the car is running, easy to fix yourself

    From the description, it sounds more like a steering rack issue - or if it's been losing a lot of fluid you may have air in the system which you will need to bleed out. The pumps can be overhauled yourself with an "O" ring kit (see how-to). You should find where the fluid is leaking from, otherwise you may be replacing the wrong part.

    As above, if the fluid level is OK then a noise when turning in one direction only would more likley be a rack fault.

    Well its got very low fluid due to a big leak because off a o ring.

    I am just going to replace the whole pump.

    how do you bleed air out.

    Put the car up on stands and turn the wheels from lock to lock half a dozen times.
