Default Rollmaster double row timing chain

I tried to put my Rollmaster double row on the other day and found the cam sprocket is very loose on the cam.

The start of the cam journal where the sprocket sits its loose as a goose then goes tight on the last 3mm.

The bore is parallel and the cam has only a little 3mm long step near the shoulder. Surely they cant rely on the cam sprocket having only 3mm of location...

Has anyone had the same problem or did yours have a tight fit from the moment the bore enters the cam?

I got a JP chain, and I had the complete opposite..... Internal diamter was way to small (couldn't even get it on the crank), got it sent away for warranty and it sat on there shelf for 4 weeks then i eventually got told "to bad we make them off a stock part so something must be wrong with your engine, we tried them on 2 engines here"........ I actually tried it on 2 engines aswell and it didnt fit, then they tried to blame my crank being after market (its stock) then in the end said to bad they cant help me and hung up on me.....

So I got it back and had to get it machined privately and the guy who done it said it was WAYYYY off a stock part, But atleast it fits now ... Maybe I just got a dud part....... Possible for you aswell?

I've seen the same issue with roll master. Their excuse was there are 3 different crank I.D's.

They sent the other two kinds and one of them fit.

Not sure if they're FOS or what, but that's what happened.
Mind you , this was for a Buick motor. (Supercharger Buick I helped build)

Yes well the crank part of it is perfect, just the sprocket that goes on the cam is way too loose.

Sort of answers my question now and also about their quality control...

Looks like i'll be modifying it myself. I need to get this motor done now! No way im going to get another set sent out over christmas with Aus post. I cant go any further till i get this bloody cam sprocket right!

Good to see im not the only person this has happened to....

I specifically told them a VR V6 engine when I ordered it, And then I also tested it on a VN s2 engine..... Didn't fit either.....
Also another problem I had was the OD of the gear to drive the oil pump was slightly to large, so I gave up and just got my stock part cut in half and used that......

They also tried to say that the stock part would be looser due to age, but when i went to get it machined the guy said the stock part is hardened so that its practically impossible for it to get looser.
If I remember right, JP and rollmaster are the same product?

    Yes, some sloppy quality control.

Steve from Mace is helping me out bigtime in solving the problem.
