    Default Air shocks for rear

Was just looking at the Monroe catalogue for air adjustable shocks for the rear of a 5.0L VR with IRS. The listing shows part number MGR-118+ but apparently excludes lowered vehicles.

What's the go with that? I wanna get some so I can pump them up to sit legal, then let them down a bit for it to sit low, will that work? What have other people done?

We also tow a car on a trailer occasionally so it would help with that too.....but why can't ya use them for lowered vehicles?

I have seen them shocks before and the adjustment doesn't change height just the harness and travel to suit whatever load your carrying.

Also when looking at them they look longer then normal shocks so could be that if you fit them with lowered springs in the rear the lowered spring may pop out on corners easier then normal.

The air shocks on my oldies VP lift the rear of the car heaps when they are pumped up.It would lift it easily around 3 or 4 inches or so I reckon. He blows em up when towing a heavy trailer,it lifts the rear of the car and levels it out so it sits level and handles better. The shocks themselves are rubbish though compared to normal heavy duty gas monroes or whatever, they are not the best to use if you want good handling. They feel looser that the normal gas shocks.
