Ok ive searched for hours and still cant find anything to reall help me
I have a VS Calais.
The other day the passenger window decided not to go down.
Ive pulled the trim off and can see the motor trying to move, but the window still wont go down.
Even with someone pushing the window down it still wont go.
The motor is getting 12 volts
All the rubbers look good
If anyone could help it would be great, or even tell me some key words to type into search if they remember...Im pretty sure ive tried a fair few combos tho
Cheers
If it's jammed up and you cant see what it is, undo the bolt on the front track (it is at the bottom of the door) This will give the glass a little room to move and free it up (maybe). The most common thing is a little bit of the rubber/felt thing in the window chanel will have foldered over, making it double thickness and jam the glass tight.

Yeah i tried that.
Still no go.
So i drilled out the rivots and took the motor out. The window slides up and down freely.
The motor works out of the door, i rested one arm on the ground putting some load on it and it still works
So its got be stuffed why it all wont work when its back together
i have just converted all mine from manual to electric windows, the thing that i found with one of my windows is i needed to re-grease the slides on the window so it made it easy for the motor to make the window up and down. Other than that there rearly is no other explanation as to why it does it out hte door and not in the door.
BushTuckerNed: i would be checking the rubber, and the angle of the sissor bars that push the window up may need a little grease. ensure nothing is hitting or getting caught.
djvass: howd it all go with the conversion? all working fine?
Most likely your master window switch, recently replaced mine about $80 but you should try taking both out (centre console) and swapping them over to confirm. I could hear the motor clicking in the door even tho it didn't want to move... Had me stumped but auto electrician confirmed it was master switch.
If it ends up to be the switch ( as said above ) if you go to holden and buy one make sure u take your vin number and or the the switch as there are 2 different lenghts (types).
I replaced both awhile ago.
